Abstract: ... From the morals and manners of the Salaf was that they would practice abundant charity with ah that was beyond their needs, day and night, secretly and openly. Whoever did not have food or wealth to spend, they would be charitable by sparing the people their harms and by bearing the harms of others. Allaah the Most High said, "Those who spend their wealth by night and day, in secret and in public, shall have their reward with their Lord. On them shall be no fear nor shall they grieve." [Sooratul-Baqarah (2):274] He also said, "You shall not attain piety (birr) until you spend out of that which you love. Whatever good you spend Allaah knows well." [Soorah Aali-'lmraan (3):92] 'Abdul-'Azeez ibn 'Umair (rahimahullaah), said, "Salaat will reach you half the road, fasting lets you reach the door of the king, and charity allows you to enter into the king's company."
